Produces distortion-free sections from 2 to 16 um in 2 um increments; 18 to 42um with optional index post (12-625-9A, below). Can be operated comfortably from a seated position. Counterbalanced hand wheel and direct-coupled specimen advance allow better cutting “feel”. Hand wheel may be locked in place while not in use. Antiroll plate ensures uniformly flat sections.
Temperatures are set digitally using waterproof membrane switch panel. LED display continuously shows temperature at knife edge (from ambient to -28 C /-18 F). Built in Quick-Freeze Plate reduced temperature of specimens on the plate to as low as - 35C
(-31 F) in a matter of minutes
Unit achieve operating temperature from ambient in an hour of less. Maintains constant temperature at knife edge, even when the sliding door is open for extended periods. An automatic defrost cycle can be programmed on the 24-hour digital timer.
