The Leica EG1150 modular tissue embedding center incorporates two separate components, the Leica EG1150 C cold plate and the Leica EG1150 H heated paraffin dispensing module.
The independent modules offer the flexibility to arrange embedding workflow in either direction (left to right or right to left) to suit an individual’s needs. The position-adjustable halogen spot light provides bright, even illumination of the entire work area.
An optional, adjustable magnifier is available to more easily orient specimens from biopsies and other small specimens.

Leica CM1900 Cryostat Features
- Hand wheel. The ergonomically positioned handwheel is extremely smooth and can be locked in the upper position.
- Stainless steel cryochamber. The open-top cryo-chamber with separate specimen cooling is easily accessible and offers ample space for convenient working and storage of specimens. An integrated drain system simplifies cleaning and disinfection.

The cryo-chamber can be quickly and effectively disinfected at any time with ultra-violet light (UVC) for increased operator safety. UV surface disinfection significantly reduces the danger of infection from bacteria, spores, and viruses.
The Leica CM1850 UV is the first cryostat provided with a silver surface coating on the outside surface of the instrument. The patented antibacterial silver coating AgProtect efficiently reduces the propagation of infectious agents constantly and without operator interaction.
The antimicrobial nano-silver coating, AgProtect, provides outstanding protection by reducing exposure to surface pathogens. AgProtect covers the cryostat’s outside surfaces and protects individuals in the work area by penetrating the membranes of microbes to prevent replication.
